When Nathan Haist talks about his family's farm in Fenwick, Ontario, he's describing a history that spans five generations, and in a remarkable testament to farming's hold on a family, all five of those generations are still alive today. The farm at 501 Memorial Drive has been home to fruit and vegetable growing on this land for well over a century.

Nathan and his family operate approximately 50 acres of their own land, along with additional rented acreage in the area. Half of their farmland is dedicated to sour cherries destined for further processing, while the remainder is planted in tender fruit: peaches, plums, apples, pears, and nectarines, all the hallmarks of Niagara-area farming done right.

Fresh, Seasonal, and Grown with Heart

Shopping at the Haist Family Farms stand is a direct connection to a real farm and real people. The Haists manage most of the farm work themselves, with family members pitching in across every aspect of growing and selling. Their roadside farm stand in Fenwick operates throughout the week for local shoppers, and at the Burlington Farmers' Market you can find Nathan and the team on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Customers who find the Haist stand keep coming back. The family has built a devoted network of returning market shoppers who know that the produce on offer was growing in Niagara soil just days earlier. From summer's peaches to fall's apples, the Haists bring genuine seasonal eating to the Burlington market table.

A Farming Legacy, Alive and Well

Five generations. Four still living. One enduring commitment to growing food well. Haist Family Farms is one of the Burlington Farmers' Market's most deeply rooted vendors — and a reminder that the best produce comes from farms where family pride is built right into the soil.

Visit Haist Family Farms at the Burlington Farmers' Market on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
